Roy,

You devil, you. I didn’t know you were a baseball fanatic, like my brother and me (but from a much earlier era.) I now find baseball boring, sorry. They could speed up the game without changing the nature of the game (for example, some critics have suggested a time period) with a simple fix: the batter is not allowed to step out of the batter’s box when he is at bat. Re-adusting their hats, adjusting their xxxxs, spitting, blowing gum bubbles, taking endless practice swings — these all are irritating to watch and slow down the game immeasurably.

You make an excellent case for Bert Blyleven’s election to the Hall of Fame. Any bites from MLB? Also, for 4 years I was head of marketing at the Bowery Savings Bank and worked with Joe DiMaggio, who was the bank’s spokesman. I’ll tell you more about him after our next meeting.

Regards,
Jeannette
